The relationship between Orange County Rescue Mission and Excel Packaging began years ago when its founder, Mike Sommers, and his family asked how they could get involved with the Rescue Mission. It was then that the Sommers family first partnered with us by generously donating gym equipment to create the beautiful gym at the Village of Hope.
Among the gym equipment donated to our veteran’s facility was a complete free-weights set and racking, resistance training equipment, workout bike and boxing fitness station.
Over the years, the Sommers family and Excel Packaging have continued to work with the Rescue Mission through their support and partnership. I would especially like to recognize them for their most recent act of generosity – donating gym equipment to our newest facility, the Tustin Veterans Outpost!
Thank you to Mike and Chris Sommers, and the rest of our friends at Excel Packaging for their desire to care for homeless veterans and their families! This generous gift means so much more than simple exercise equipment; the ability to exercise and maintain physical health is so beneficial to mental and emotional restoration as well.
It is great to see a company that values community involvement, and is always looking for a way to give back. Thank you Excel Packaging!
