The current population at the Orange County Rescue Mission maintains some of the highest numbers of children that we have ever seen. With the help of valuable partners, we have been able to present these children and their families essential resources to aid in their successes in life. One of these partners, Blue Buoy Swim School in Tustin, has extended a life line to our children in the form of swim lessons, and with the summer season upon us, this resource could not have come at a better time.
Equipped with the valuable life skill of swimming, we could not have anticipated the incredible story that awaited our children upon arrival for their lessons at the pool yesterday.

For an hour, our Village of Hope kids got special swim lessons from Her Serene Highness and from five-time Olympic swimmer Dara Torres, who is an ambassador for the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.
Now, the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation has set up a scholarship to bring the Village of Hope Children to the school for two weeks every year to learn the basics of swimming and water safety.

  1. Jim,
This is great news and the timing could not have been better. Yes, He truly is our provider and knows what we have need of. Many thanks to the foundations and all those who help and support the work we are doing..
